Winter in Wasaga Beach does not limit the opportunities to get out and explore our trails in many different ways. A relatively new sport, fat biking allows biking enthusiasts to get out even in the winter. These winterized bikes with their "fat" tires are a fun way to see the sites and get moving in the winter. The oversized tires on these bikes allows the rider to explore the softer winter terrain.

Many of Wasaga Beach’s trail systems are a perfect venue for winter fat biking.

The Wasaga Nordic and Trail Centre is managed by Ontario Parks and is the main location for fatbike rentals in Wasaga. Other equipment rentals, light refreshments, and warm-up shelters to help you warm up on those crisp wintery days are also provided here. Many of the ski trails located inside of Wasaga Nordic and Trail Centre can be used for fatbiking, and a 7.6km snowshoe trail network radiates from this Centre and offers a range of difficulty level routes that cater to different experience levels.
